NOTE: Two of the included adapters are used with the
driver to install Harley-Davidson
® Sportster ® model
sprocket shaft bearings.
d. Screw the driver onto the end of the
sprocket shaft.
e. Insert 1 ⁄
2
" drive ratchet wrench (not included)
into the socket on side of the driver.
f. Support the top section of the tool while
turning the wrench handle to press the bearing
onto the shaft.Press the bearing onto the shaft
until seated. See Picture 2.
C. Sprocket Shaft Seal Installation
1.
Big twin Sprocket Shaft Seal
1955-'02 Installation
a. Insert bearing spacer into sprocket shaft seal.
b. Place seal and spacer squarely over top of
seal bore.
NOTE: One of the included adapters is used to install big
twin sprocket shaft seals.
c. Place seal installer adapter (Item 6) squarely on
top of seal. See Figure 1.
d. Screw the driver onto the end of the
sprocket shaft.
e. Insert 1 ⁄
2
” drive ratchet wrench (not included)
into the socket on side of the driver.
f. Support the top section of the tool while
turning the wrench handle to press the seal
into the bore. Press the seal into the bore
until flush. See Picture 3.
2. Sportster ® model Sprocket Shaft Seal 1957-'03
Installation
a. Insert bearing spacer into sprocket shaft seal
b. Place seal and seal spacer squarely over top of
seal bore.
NOTE: Two of the included adapters are used with the driver to
install Sportster
® model sprocket shaft seals.
c. Screw sprocket shaft adapter (Item 7) onto the
end of the driver, and then place seal installer
adapter (Item 9) squarely on top of seal.
d. Screw the driver onto the end of the
sprocket shaft.
e. Insert 1 ⁄
2
" drive ratchet wrench (not included) into
the socket on side of the driver.
f. Support the top section of the tool while
turning the wrench handle to press the seal
into the bore. Press the seal into the bore
until flush. See Picture 3.
