Improper handling may damage the external data memory.
Strong mechanical stress (shocks, punches, bends) will damage the external
data memory.
Possible consequences:

The external data memory is defective. You must replace it.
Protective measures:
ƒ
Always disconnect the external data memory during transport, storage or
mounting of the standard device.
ƒ
Attach the external data memory just before commissioning.
Note!
ƒ
Disconnect the standard device from the mains before you attach or
remove the external EXMID1 data memory!
ƒ
If the external EXMID1 data memory is attached or removed during
voltage is applied, the data saved on it can be damaged:
– If data are damaged, the standard device displays an error.
