16. Screw CRUISE-MATE stud into bushing until you feel resistance then stop and install
CRUISE-MATE handle, spring and bolt (Fig 8).
a.
Apply a drop of LocTite to threads of handle shoulder bolt to ensure bolt won’t
vibrate out.
b. Be sure after assembling CRUISE-MATE, handle moves up and down freely on
the stud.
c. One end of the spring that inserts into the end of the handle may be slightly
smaller on one end than the other. Install the spring with large end first.
You are now ready to adjust CRUISE-MATE for operation. Whi
le adjusting it’s very possible you
will flood your engine (carburetor models only) so you may have to let your bike set for a few
minutes before starting engine.
