YOU WILL BE WORKING AROUND THE ENGINE AND
EXHAUST SYSTEM DURING INSTALLATION. ENSURE

THAT THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM HAVE

FULLY COOLED TO PREVENT INJURY.

Avoid damage to the motorcycle. Protect painted surfaces
with a soft cloth or blanket.

NOTE:

Due to variations from motorcycle to motorcycle, some

motorcycles

may

require

a

little

extra pressure to engage the fork

lock after installation of the neck covers.

STEP 2

Cut the zip ties that secure the clutch cable to the right down tube. Also

on the down tube cross brace, rotate the zip ties that secure the O2

sensor harness back toward the engine.

NOTE:

If the cable ties are too tight you can clip them and use those

supplied in the hardware kit.

Ensure the area of installation is free of grease, oil, dirt or
other debris including wax/polish products and bugs to
ensure proper adhesion. Küryakyn WILL NOT issue a

warranty on any parts lost due to improper installation.

STEP 3

With the supplied alcohol pad, clean the down tube cross brace. Wipe

clean and let it dry.

STEP 4

On the down tube cross brace, dry fit the down tube cross brace cover.

Once you are satisfied with the fit, you can remove the tape backing and

place it on the cross brace.

The adhesive will not bond correctly if applied at
temperatures less than 50°F. Do not attempt this installation
in temperatures less than 50°F.

STEP 5

Remove the wire loom clamp, rubber tank bolt cover, and the gas tank

bolt from the right side (sitting on motorcycle) of the neck. There is a

rivet holding the loom clamp that needs to be drilled out to allow the

loom clamp to be completely removed from the bike. PIC 1

STEP 6

Remove the wire loom clamp, rubber tank bolt cover, outside air temp sensor (PIC 2) and

gas tank bolt from the left side (sitting on motorcycle) of the neck. There is a rivet holding the

loom clamp that needs to be drilled out to allow the loom clamp to be completely removed from

the bike. PIC 2

NOTE:

Use one of the supplied 4” cable ties to secure the outside air temp sensor up under the

fairing out of harms way.

STEP 7

Snap the down tube covers into place; position them to fit with the down tube cross brace cover.

STEP 8

Install the foam pads from the hardware kit on the inside of the down tube cover clamp halves

and the inside of the covers as shown in PIC 3.

STEP 9

Place the left cover on the motorcycle, and start a 5/16”-18 x 1-1/4” button socket cap screw and

flat washer to secure the cover and the tank to the frame. Leave finger tight for now.
