WARNING
Do not pressurize half couplers. All couplers must be correctly and
completely fastened together before applying pressure. Never
attempt to connect or disconnect couplers while under pressure.
1. Use thread sealant when installing couplers. Keep first thread free of
sealant. If using tape, trim any loose ends to prevent tape from
entering the hydraulic system.
CAUTION: Teflon tape is an excellent sealant, but care must be
taken to ensure that pieces of tape do not enter the hydraulic
system. Pieces of tape in the fluid will impair fluid flow causing
premature system malfunctions.
CAUTION: Quick disconnect couplers should be hand-tightened;
never use tools.
2. Keep dust caps on couplers when not in use. Use every precaution
to guard against dirt entering the system.
3. Make sure all coupler threads are in good condition. Do not use any
coupler that has been damaged.
4. All coupler threads, male or female, must be kept clean.
