SUBJECT: SAFETY BAR FOR
8- INCH CHIPPER WITH PLUS ONE
CONTROLLER KIT # 76195-00
FITS MODELS: CH8670H (76824),
CH8993H (76835)
Before inspecting or servicing any part of this machine,
shut off power source, remove key, disconnect the
battery cables and make sure all moving parts have
come to a complete stop.
WARNING
These instructions will describe how to install the safety
bar kit on 8 Inch Chippers.
REMOVE EXISTING TRAY
1. Remove the existing tray by taking off the 3/8 inch nuts
that hold the tray onto the chipper chute. Take off the
tray.
Steps 2-6 refer to the drawing below.
2. Remove the 5/16 inch bolt from the Control Bar.
3. Remove the existing switch box mount and replace
it with the switch box mount (PN 75243-12) provided
in the kit.
a. Start by taking off switch box cover and removing
the bolts holding the box to the mount.
b. Next, remove the switch box mount from the chute.
c. Attach the new switch box mount provided in the kit.
d. Reuse the bolts to mount the switch box mount.
Reattach the switch box.
4. Remove the 5-3/8" bolts and nuts that hold the hinge
and Pivot Bar on the chute.
5. Replace old Pivot Bar with new Pivot Bar provided in
kit.
a. Using the hardware removed in Step 4 bolt the
Pivot Bar and hinge to the chute. Note that the coated
clamp must be placed behind the Pivot Bar.

When installing the coated clamp, run the wire harness
from the kneebar switch through the clamp.
6. Bolt the new tray with the knee bar using the hardware
removed in Step 1. Adjust the tray by lifting it to the
closed position and making sure it locks in place
when it is in the upright position.
Paying attention to the order when removing the old parts
will aid in installing the new parts in the correct order.
