be checked periodically.

1. Remove spark plug lead from spark plug.
2. Remove engine cover.
3. Remove exhaust deflector (A), spark arrestor cover (B),

gasket (C), and spark arrestor screen (D) from muffler.
Replace screen if plugged with carbon deposits.

Note: When cleaning carbon deposits, be careful not to damage

the catalytic element inside muffler.

4. Clean carbon deposits from muffler components.
5. Install spark arrestor screen, gasket, and covers.
6. Install engine cover.
7. Attach spark plug lead.

Exhaust Port Cleaning

Level 2.

1. Remove spark plug lead from spark plug, and remove

engine cover.

2. Place piston at top dead center. Remove muffler (A) and

heat shield (B).
