Unpacking
• Unpacking
- Please unpack the device carefully.
- In the case of any damage a detailed report must be sent immediately (post, rail or forwarder).

• Beware of the risk of
- flammable materials
- glass breakage as a result of mechanical shaking power
• The appliance may heat up when in use.
• Only process media that will not react dangerously to the ex-
tra energy produced through processing. This also applies to
any extra energy produced in other ways, e.g. through light
irradiation.
• Process pathogenic materials only in closed vessels under a
suitable extractor hood. Please contact IKA
®
if you have any
questions.
• Do not operate the appliance in explosive atmospheres, with
hazardous substances or under water.
• Safe operation is only guaranteed with the accessories descri-
bed in the ”Accessories” chapter.
• Always disconnect the plug before fi tting accessories.
• Disconnect the device from the power supply before you open
the cover or adjust the inclination angle of the device shaking
table.
• Do not operate the device with the cover open.
• The appliance can only be disconnected from the mains supply
by pulling out the mains plug or the connector plug.
• The socket for the mains cord must be easily accessible.

Roller 6/10 basic does not restart automatically
when power is restored after a power outage. If the IKA
®
Roller 6/10 digital is running in mode A it does not restart
automatically when power is restored after a power outage.
For protection of the equipment
• The appliance may only be opened by experts.
• The voltage stated on the type plate must correspond to the
mains voltage.
• Removable parts must be refitted to the appliance to prevent
the infiltration of foreign objects, liquids etc..
• Protect the appliance and accessories from bumps and impacts.
• The device must only be operated with the original plug-in
power supply unit.
For your protection
• Read the operating instructions in full be-
fore starting up and follow the safety in-
structions.
• Keep the operating instructions in a place where
they can be accessed by everyone.
• Ensure that only trained staff work with the appliance.
• Follow the safety instructions, guidelines, occupational health
and safety and accident prevention regulations.
• Wear your personal protective equipment in accordance with
the hazard category of the medium to be processed. Otherwise
there is a risk of:
- splashing liquids
- projectile parts
- body parts, hair, clothing and jewellery getting caught.
• Set up the device in a spacious area on an even, stable, clean,
non-slip, dry and fireproof surface.
• The feet of the appliance must be clean and undamaged.
• Check the appliance and accessories beforehand for damage
each time you use them. Do not use damaged components.
•
Caution! There is a crush hazard between the
moving parts and the casing.
• Place the test tubes safely between the rollers.
• Ensure accessory parts are secured carefully as test tubes can
be damaged or ejected otherwise.
• Always load the samples evenly on the device.
• The weight of the load must not exceed 2 kg. Do not exceed
the maximum permissible shaking weights.
• Do not move or transport the device when it is operating or
connected to the power supply.
• Reduce the speed if
- medium sprays out of test tube due to excessive speed,
- the appliance is not running smoothly,
- dynamic forces start to cause the device and/or test tubes to
move around.
• The appliance is not suitable for manual operation.
