Setting Up a Home Office Network
If you are setting up an AirPort network in your home or small office and you have a
broadband DSL or cable modem connection to the Internet, and an existing Ethernet
network, you may need the following items:
 An AirPort Extreme Base Station or multiple base stations
 A DSL or cable modem with Internet access
 AirPort- or other wireless-equipped computers
 An Ethernet network (optional)
The following illustration is an example of an AirPort network. The AirPort Extreme Base
station is connected by the Ethernet WAN port (<) to the DSL or cable modem (if your
base station came with a built-in modem, you can use it to connect to a phone line).
The base station shares its Internet connection with the AirPort and WiFi-equipped
computers wirelessly and with computers connected to the Ethernet LAN port (G).
