Section 5 Fuel Lines
Section 5A: The Factory Mechanical Lift Pump.
NOTE: The mechanical fuel pump must be disabled by removing the plunger or removed
from the engine.
5A-1. Remove the factory lift pump by removing
the bolts securing it to the engine.
5A-2. Remove the plunger from the rear of the pump and
re-install the mechanical pump.

5A-3. Cover the mechanical pump port on the engine
with a Big Block Chevy pump “block off” plate
from your local auto parts store.

Section 5B: ‘P’ Pump and Injector Bleed Line Return.
NOTE: The ‘P’ Pump return line and the Injector Fuel Bleed return line must be combined and
returned to the tank through the original return line.

5B-1. Disconnect the original fuel return line from the ‘P’ Pump steel return line and connect
the flexible fuel line included in the installation kit.
5B-2. Disconnect the 8mm banjo bolt and banjo fitting from
the filter head.

5B-3. Route and connect the flexible fuel return line to the Push Lock ‘T’ included in the
installation kit.
5B-4. Using the 8mm banjo bolt and washer, connect the injector bleed return banjo to the
Push Lock ‘T’.
5B-5. Connect the new fuel return line to the Push Lock ‘T’.
