Send an SMS text message
1. Press
MENU
, then
OK
twice.
2. Use the keypad to write your message then press
OPTION
.
3. Now scroll
or
to choose between:
SEND TO
– press
OK
and either enter the number you
want or press
SEARCH
to display your Directory, then
scroll to the entry you want. Now press
SEND
.
SAVE
– you can save a text in the Draft Messages box for
sending later. Press
OK
to save.
USE TEMPLATE
– these are pre-stored messages.
Press
OK
and scroll to the message you want and press
OK
.
The template message is added to your text at the cursor.
When ready, press
OPTION
. These three choices are
displayed again.
4. When sending a message, the display briefly shows
TRANSFERRING SMS
before returning to standby.
If there is a problem, the display shows
MESSAGE FAILED
and the message is stored in the outbox. Press
CLEAR
to
return to the standby display or press
READ
to open the
message and send again.

You can send and receive SMS text
messages of up to 160 characters.
Entering text
Use the keypad letters to enter
text, e.g. to write TOM:
Press
once to enter T.
Press
three times to enter O.
Press
once to enter M.
Writing tips
If you make a mistake, press
CLEAR
to delete the last character or digit.
Press
once to insert a space.
Available characters are displayed
at the bottom of the screen. Keep
pressing the button to scroll
through the characters.
The cursor automatically moves
to the next space after a couple
of seconds.
Select upper or lower case or
numerals by pressing
. An A, a
or 1 will appear in the display to
indicate the current selection.
Punctuation and other characters
Use
,
and
to enter a
comma, full stop etc. (see next
page).
