LogHandler wheel loader was developed espe-
cially for the demands of the wood industry. A special lifting gear
allows for the timber to be taken up from above at a considerable
lifting height, in a similar way to an industrial excavator. At the
round timber yard in Sebes, this wheel loader fulfils the tasks of
loading and offloading the trucks, feeding the debarking and sort-
ing installation and handling and transporting the round timber
with high degrees of stepping.

wheel loader is equipped with a heart-shaped grab 3.6 m² in size,
fitted with a chain. Liebherr offers an extensive range of grabs of
the most widely differing shapes and sizes. All the grabs come
from the company’s own development and production resources,
which means that top manufacturing quality with no compromise
is guaranteed. The grab can be rotated through 360°, and can be
pivoted forwards and backwards. In combination with the ver-
satility and agility of the wheeled loader, efficient performance is
guaranteed - even in restricted spaces.

possible view upwards, the spacious ergonomic cab is provided
with an additional roof window. Protective grilles for the front
windscreen and roof window are provided as standard for the
tough industrial conditions under which the machine works. The
tried and trusted Liebherr single-lever operating system provides
complete control of the LogHandlers without fatigue. Both ma-
chines at Sebes are equipped with a hydraulically lowered stump
ram, and in this format tip the scales at 34.5 tonnes. With this
equipment, the L 580 wheel loader can easily handle a load of
8,470 kg.
Of course, Liebherr LogHandlers also provide the well-known ad-
vantages of the Liebherr hydrostatic travel drive. These include
up to 25 % less fuel consumption, a service brake system that is
practically free of wear, and low tyre wear as well.
Making the decision in favour of Liebherr was based not only on
