Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for

future reference.

Danger

- Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid, nor rinse it

under the tap. Only use a moist cloth to clean the motor unit.
Warning

- Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local

mains voltage before you connect the appliance.

- Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord or other parts are

damaged.

- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)

with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of

experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for

their safety.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with

the appliance.

- Do not touch the cutting edges of the blade units, especially when the

appliance is plugged in. The cutting edges are very sharp.

- Never use the chopper or food processor blade unit without the bowl.

- Be careful to avoid splashing when you process hot ingredients

(max 80°C/175°F).

- None of the accessories is suitable for use in the microwave.

- If one of the blade units gets stuck, unplug the appliance before you

remove the ingredients that block the blade unit.

- If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips,

a service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualified persons in

order to avoid a hazard.
Caution

- Switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains before you

assemble, disassemble, store or clean it, and if you leave it unattended.

- Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers or that

Philips does not specifically recommend. If you use such accessories or

parts, your guarantee becomes invalid.

- This appliance is intended for household use only.

- Keep the motor unit away from heat, fire, moisture and dirt.

- Do not exceed the quantities and processing times indicated in

the table.

- Do not use the appliance with any of the accessories longer than

3 minutes without interruption. Let the appliance cool down for

15 minutes before you continue processing.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)

This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and regulations

regarding exposure to electromagnetic fields.

Trigger switch

This appliance is equipped with a trigger switch.

- The deeper you press, the higher the processing speed becomes: low

speed (1), medium speed (2), high speed (3) (Fig. 1).

The appliance may have been used too long

without interruption. If this is the case, stop

using the appliance and let it cool down for

Can I process boiling

hot ingredients?

Let the ingredients cool down to approx.

80°C/175°F before you process them.

Which size should the

ingredients have before

I process them?

Cut the ingredients into pieces of approx.

Is it possible to damage

the appliance by

processing very hard

ingredients?

Yes, the appliance may get damaged if you

process very hard ingredients such as bones

and fruit with stones. However, the appliance is

suitable for processing ingredients like Parmesan

cheese or chocolate.

Why does the

appliance suddenly stop

working?

Some hard ingredients may block the blade

unit. Release the trigger switch and unplug the

appliance. Then detach the motor unit and

remove the ingredients that block the blade

unit.

Recipe
Pancake filling

This recipe can be prepared with the XL chopper. The XL chopper is not

a standard accessory with every model in this range, but it can be ordered

as an extra accessory. See chapter ‘Ordering accessories’.

Ingredients

- 120g honey

- 110g prunes

Put the honey and the prunes in the fridge for several hours at 3°C.

Put the XL chopper blade unit in the XL chopper bowl.

Put the prunes in the XL chopper bowl and pour the honey over

them.

Put the bowl with the prunes in the fridge for 1 hour at 3°C.

Put the XL chopper lid on the bowl and then fasten the motor unit

onto the bowl.

Press the trigger switch as far as it goes to reach the highest speed

and let the chopper operate for 5 seconds at this speed.
