Programming Badger ORION
® Transmitters
To access the ORION Programming functions press the “P” key from the ORION Quick
Read screen. You’ll see this screen.
You can also display the ORION Program Screen using the “P” Hot Key.
Note that you must perform a Read function before you can perform any other function.
The Program screen for ORION transmitters allows you to perform these functions:
• Read “Enter” a transmitter’s information through the optical LED
• Start “S” a transmitter’s radio
• Stop “T” a transmitter’s radio
• Enter a reading “R” to program to a transmitter
• Program a transmitter’s odometer value “P” to match the RTR
• Pause “U” a transmitters radio until water flows through the meter
• Close “C” to return back to the Orion Quick Read screen
Reading the Transmitter through the Optical port
To use the Programmer to Read the transmitter’s meter reading information, align the
optical port on the bottom of the handheld computer and the LED and press the “Enter”
key. If the port and the LED are aligned, you’ll see this message in the Status field:
• Reading
Once the transmitter information has been read, the other fields on the screen will be
updated. Once all the information is gathered, you’ll hear a beep and see this screen.
