MAINTENANCE
Checking the Engine's Cooling Air Intake
Check that the engine’s cooling air intake is
free from leaves, grass, and dirt.
If the cooling air intake is clogged, engine
cooling deteriorates, which can lead to
engine damage.
The cooling air intakes rotates when the
engine is running. Mind your fingers.
Checking and Adjusting the
Throttle Cable
Check that the engine responds to throttle
increases and that a good engine speed is
attained at full throttle.
If doubts arise, contact the service workshop.
If adjustments are necessary, they can be
made as follows for the lower cable:
1.
Loosen the clamping screw for the
cable’s outer casing and move the
throttle to the full throttle position.
2.
Check that the throttle cable is mounted
in the correct hole in the lower lever, see
illustration.
3.
Push the throttle cable’s outer casing as
far to the right as possible and tighten the
clamping screw.
Checking and Adjusting the Choke
Cable
If the engine produces black smoke or is
difficult to start, this can be because the choke
cable is incorrectly adjusted (upper cable).
If doubts arise, contact the service workshop.
If adjustments are necessary, they can be
made as follows:
1.
Loosen the clamping screw for the
cable’s outer casing and push the choke
control fully in.
2.
Check that the choke cable is mounted in
the upper lever, see illustration. Push the
choke cable’s outer casing as far to the
left as possible and tighten the clamping
screw.
