Step 6 – Testing Your System

1 PREPARATION

• Make sure all windows and doors are closed

and sensors are undisturbed.

• The Control Panel should read BT HOME

MONITOR or READY.

• If the system is NOT READY, query the Control

Panel by pressing the SHOW / OK button
several times. The source of the problem or
problems will be displayed and stated aloud.
Take the necessary measures to eliminate any
problems before testing the system. For
assistance in clearing problems, please refer to
the Troubleshooting information in Section 7.

2 SENSOR ACTIVATION AND STRENGTH

To test that all sensors are working normally:

PRESS

DISPLAY

Twice until the display shows
SYSTEM PROFILE.

Enter default PIN 2580 (or your
new PIN if you have chosen one).

Until display shows
TEST SENSORS.

Activate each sensor in turn
(by opening a door or creating
movement), and listen for the
sound the panel makes.

Sound

STRONG

Intermittent Tune twice

GOOD

Intermittent Tune once

POOR

Solid Tune once

Three times, then to exit
to return to READY.

If you can see the Control Panel, the display will
show the sensor number and test result.

3 KEYFOB ACTIVATION AND STRENGTH

• In READY mode, use the Keyfob to switch the

Control Panel ON. To switch ON, press

.

• The ON indicator light should appear on the

Control Panel. The panel will state aloud,
“Switching on house, please exit now”.

• The exit delay beeps will begin.

• Press the

button. The ON indicator light

should disappear, and the display should revert
to READY.
