Regardless of your skill level or environment, EVOLT E-500 offers a full complement of features

and controls. In fact, with its introduction, it showcases more superior functions and sensible

ergonomics than any digital SLR in its class.

Everything you need to shoot for excellence.

Dual Media Slots – For increased storage flexibility, switch between CF and xD-Picture Cards when

one becomes full. Or use the camera’s menu to copy an image onto both, for backup purposes.

Auto Focus – Choose from left, center or right AF points. Activate them automatically or select

them manually. The system’s high-precision super-imposed display lets you to confirm target

zones easily. To focus in dim light or darkness, an AF illuminator is built into the flash. Choose

from five focus modes: C-AF, S-AF, MF, S-AF+ MF, C-AF+MF.

White Balance – The exclusive one-touch WB button at the back of EVOLT E-500 helps you

make settings, with ease. Also choose from White Balance and Preset White Balance (for

daylight, cloudy, shade, tungsten, fluorescent and more). Select settings from 2000K to 7500K

– with additional fine-tuning available to each, in seven steps.

Noise Reduction – This function utilizes a proprietary Olympus algorithm to detect and

eliminate fixed noise that can appear on long-exposure images, like a bulb exposure at night.

High-Precision Flash Controls – With seven flash modes, you can be highly selective: Auto,

Red-Eye Reduction, Slow Synchro and Red-Eye Reduction, Slow Synchro first curtain, Slow

Synchro second curtain, forced flash and flash off. Thanks to EVOLT E-500’s auto pop-up flash,

there’s never any need to lift the flash manually. For daylight fill or flash synchronization above

1/180th second – with available external flashes (FL-36 and FL-50) – choose FP Flash.

Our first priority was

preparing you for everything.
