7. Slide the hard disk drive out of the bay.
8. Install the new hard disk drive.
(1) Slide the new hard disk drive into the drive bay.
(2) Screw in the new hard disk drive to the drive bay.
9. Connect the data and power cables back to the hard disk drive.
10. Align the 4 screw holes in the hard disk drive bay with the mounting
holes in the chassis, then screw it in.
11. Screw back the motherboard cover.
12. Install the computer cover and stand.
Replacing the optical disk drive
Attention
Turn off the computer and wait 3 to 5 minutes to let the computer
cool down before replacing the optical disk drive.
To replace the optical disk drive
Note
For this procedure, it helps to place the computer face-down on a soft
flat surface. Lenovo recommends that you use a blanket, towel, or other
soft cloth to protect the screen surface from scratches or other damage.
