Allied Telesyn Guide to Ingress Rate Limiting on the Rapier-i
C613-43002-00 REV A
June 23, 2003
■
Add ports 1 and 2 to the VLAN, using the command:
add vlan=2 port=1,2
■
Set the Egress Limit on port 2, using the command:
set switch port=2 egresslimit=2000
■
Link port 2 to port 3, using a cross-over cable.
This set up, shown in Figure 2, has the effect of setting an Ingress Rate Limit of
2Mbps on Port 1 with the benefit of buffering. The result is that the end-to-end
throughput of the traffic from host 1 to host 2 will be very close to the
configured limit of 2Mbps.
