Camera ready light status
Picture is too dark. ■ Turn on the flash ( see page 9 ).
■ Move so there is no more than 11.8 ft (3.6 m) in wide angle and
6.9 ft (2.1 m) in telephoto between the camera and the subject.
■ Use Fill flash ( see page 9 ) or change your position so light is not
behind the subject.
■ Increase Exposure Compensation ( see page 37 ).
Camera does not
recognize
SD/SDHC or MMC
card. ■ Purchase a certified SD/SDHC or MMC card.
■ Reformat the card ( see page 32 ).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and videos,
including protected files.
■ Insert a card into the slot, then push to seat ( see page 3 ).
Camera freezes up
when a card is
inserted or
removed. ■ Turn the camera off, then back on. Make sure the camera is turned off
before inserting or removing a card.
Memory card full. ■ Insert a new card ( see page 3 ), transfer pictures to the computer ( see
page 45 ), or delete pictures ( see page 15 ).
Memory card and
internal memory
full. ■ Transfer pictures to the computer ( see page 45 ), then format the card
or internal memory ( see page 32 ).
Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and videos,
including protected files.
If Try one or more of the following
Ready light does
not turn on and the
camera does not
work. ■ Turn on the camera ( see page 2 ).
■ Install new batteries ( see page 1 ) or charge rechargeable batteries.
■ Turn camera off, then back on.
Ready light blinks
green. ■ Camera is operating normally.
If Try one or more of the following
