• Do not leave the appliance on or near a
gas burner or electric hotplate, inside or
near a hot oven or a microwave oven.
• In the event of failure and/or improper
working, turn the appliance off and
do not attempt to repair it. Contact an
authorised Technical Assistance Centre
and request that they use original
replacement parts and accessories.
• Do not pull on the power cable to
remove the plug from the socket.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended
while on and make sure it is kept out of
the reach of children or the disabled.

• Do not use this appliance outside.
• Unplug the appliance while not in use or
before carrying out any maintenance or
cleaning operation.
• Wait for the appliance to cool completely
before cleaning and storing.
• Do not use abrasive products or caustic
or oven cleaners to clean the appliance.
• Do not use metal utensils on the heater
plaques since this may damage the
nonstick coating.
• When using the appliance, make sure
there is enough free space above and
beside the appliance to allow proper
air circulation. During use, do not let
the appliance come into contact with
curtains, painted paper, clothes, tea
towels or other flammable material.
• Note: when the appliance is to be used
on surfaces for which heat may be a
problem, we recommend that you use a
heatinsulating cushion.
• This machine should not be used
by people whose physical, sensory
or mental capacities are diminished
(including children), or by people with
little experience or know-how, except if
they can be assisted by another person
responsible for their safety and vigilance
and are able to give them instructions
pertaining to the use of the machine.
• It is also convenient to supervise
children so as to assure they maintain a
safe distance from the machine.
4. BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST
TIME
Before using for the first time, take a
moment to become familiar with your grill,
setting it to the different positions and
changing the plaques while still unplugged.
Clean the surfaces of the plaques with a
damp cloth and leave to dry.
Grease the plaques using salad oil.
1. SETTING TO THE DIFFERENT
POSITIONS
• Perpendicular plaques
With the grill closed, open the grill by
lifting the upper cover up as far as it will
go. (Fig. 2)
This working position is used when you
do not want the upper plaque to come
into contact with the food.
Adapts to the shape of the food
With the grill in the position described
above (perpendicular plaques), place the
food on the lower plaque and close the
grill by gently lowering the upper cover
until it rests on the food.
This position is used for grilling and
browning both sides of the food at the
same time.
• Parallel plaques
Open the grill by placing it in the
perpendicular plaque position, place
the food on the lower plaque and lift the
upper cover up as far as it will go, before
folding it down once again until it rests
firmly on its supports using the grill plate
turning knob. The upper plaque is thus
