About Opening the Computer
Removing the top cover
1. Shut down your computer and turn off all peripheral devices, such as your printer.
2. Unplug your computer and disconnect any peripheral devices.
3. Locate the two tabs on the top edge of the back panel.
4. Gently lift these tabs and slide the top cover towards the back of the unit.
5. Lift the top cover up and set aside.
Rem ov ing the top cov er
If you open the cover or panels immediately after you shut down your computer, the components may be too
hot to touch. Wait until the internal parts of the system unit cool down before you attempt to open the unit.
Removing the side panel
1. Shut down your computer and turn off all peripheral devices, such as your printer.
2. Unplug your computer and disconnect any peripheral devices.
3. Press the release button on the top edge of the side panel.
