Disconnecting a mouse or keyboard
You can disconnect a USB or PS/2 ® mouse or keyboard when the computer is on or off. Disconnecting the mouse or
keyboard when the computer is in a power saving mode (Standby or Hibernate) may cause the computer to malfunction.
To disconnect a mouse or keyboard
 Unplug the USB or PS/2 cable from the USB or PS/2 port.
To disconnect a mouse or keyboard when the computer is on
1. Double-click the Unplug or Eject Hardware icon on the Taskbar Notification area. The Unplug or Eject
Hardware window appears.
2. Select the appropriate USB device in the Hardware devices window, if it is not already selected.
3. Click Stop. The Stop a Hardware device window appears.
4. Make sure the USB device is selected, and click OK. A message appears stating it is now safe to remove the
hardware device.
5. Unplug the USB cable from the USB port on the computer.
