Using the HP Server Management Packs for System
Center Essentials
The HP Server Management Packs for System Center Essentials include the following major elements:
• Classes
• Views
• Discoveries
• Monitors
• Rules
• Tasks
Before using the HP Server Management Packs for System Center Essentials, be sure that the following
conditions exist:
• The HP Server Management Packs for System Center Essentials have been installed according to the
installation procedures ("
Installation " on page 9 ) defined in this guide.
• SNMP services are installed, properly configured, and running on all managed servers.
NOTE: The appropriate versions of HP Insight Management Agents are installed and running
on all managed servers. For further information, see the HP Server Management Pack
Configuration Guide.
Classes
The structure of the HP Server Classes is defined to provide the following features:
• Classes to abstract HP ProLiant servers.
• Classes to abstract SNMP and future WMI based management.
• Classes organized into multiple management packs.
