Installing into the Transformer Winding
Figure 11 shows the sensor installation schematic into the transformer’s windings.
Some Guidelines for Installation
For a safe and successful installation, always follow these steps during the fiber optic sensors installation:
•
Avoid sharp radius turns with the fiber-optic cable
• Respect specified minimum bending radius for the sensor and cable : 18 mm for 62.5/125 μm fiber
(25 mm preferable)
• Avoid tensioning or twisting the fiber-optic cable
• Avoid pinch points and “scissors” when setting the sensors in place
• Do not pull on fiber-optic cable to clear tangles; carefully unwind instead
• Avoid dropping or scraping fiber-optic connectors on hard surfaces
• Keep the surface of the fiber-optic connector very, very clean
• Use the supplied fiber optic connector cleaner liberally, before and after each and every connection
