... very slow response.
Dirt on the diaphragm or the mem-
brane.
De-hydrated membrane.
Electrode ageing or wear.
Clean, regenerate, replace the elec-
trode.
Storage
Place the electrode in the storage protec-
tor
with KCl 3M.
Life of an electrode
The average life expectancy of a pH pro-
cess electrode oscillates between 6 or 12
months, depending on the working con-
ditions (in standard applications).
Electrodes exposed to high temperatures
do not last as long. Very alkaline mediums
also reduces the life span of electrodes.
If an electrode has too short life span,
less than three months, ask us about it.
Probably there is a more suitable elec-
trode for the application.
Specifications
Applications
Swimming pools, drinking waters.
Aqueous samples in general.
Limitations
Low conductivity, dirty or viscous solutions.
Products with colloids or solids in suspen-
sion. Samples containing substances which
react with the silver ion.
CERTIFICATE OF QUALITY
The attached electrode 53 38 has passed
the quality test and follows the next speci-
fications:
• Asymmetry potential < ± 15 mV.
• Sensitivity, pH 4 to 7 (at 25 ˚C) > 98%.
• Response time, pH 4 to 7 < 20 s.
