Water and light alone are not enough. Plants need carbon dioxide, a gas
that people and animals exhale. The plants inhale carbon dioxide and ex-
hale oxygen. This is how we get enough oxygen and the plants enough car-
bon dioxide. The bag will suffocate the plants.
Experiment 3: Besides water and light, do plants need
anything else to grow?
