Important safety instructions
1. Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions.
2. Do not use this unit near water.
. Clean only with a dry cloth.
. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s
instructions.
5. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other
apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
6. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug
has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a
third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If
the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the
obsolete outlet.
7. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from the unit.
8. Only use attachments/ accessories specified by the manufacturer.
9. Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
10. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the unit has
been damaged in any way, such as the following: the power-supply cord or plug has been
damaged; liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the unit; and/or the unit has
been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, has changed its
performance or has been dropped.
11. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
12. Do not overload wall outlet. Use only power source as indicated.
13. Use replacement parts as specified by the manufacturer.
1. The product may be mounted to a wall only if recommended by the manufacturer.
15. Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to
perform safety checks.
When unpacking, ensure that the following elements are included:
1 x baby unit
1 x parent unit
1 x DC adapter
1 x instruction manual
WARNING: All packaging materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire ties and tags are not part of
this product and should be discarded.
Baby Unit
The SMBABY1 baby unit operates with x C size 1,5V batteries (not included) or on AC
20V – 50Hz.
AC operation
1. Check that the unit is switched off.
2. Connect one end of the adapter to the DC IN jack located on the right side of the unit.
. Plug the other end of the adapter into any convenient AC 20V – 50Hz power outlet.
Battery installation
1. Using a screwdriver, open the two battery compartments
located at the back of the baby unit.
2. Insert 2 x C size batteries (not included) in each
compartment observing the polarity indicated in the
compartments, and as per the diagram shown opposite.
. Close the battery compartments and tighten the screws.
Note: The adapter must be disconnected from the
DC IN jack on the rear of the unit in order to let the
product operate on battery power.
Parent Unit
The SMBABY1 parent unit operates with x AA/LR6 size 1,5V batteries (not included) or on
AC 20V – 50Hz.
AC operation (adapter not included)
1. Check that the unit is switched off.
2. Connect one end of the adapter to the DC IN jack located on the left side of the unit.
. Plug the other end of the adapter into any convenient AC 20V – 50Hz power outlet.
