4.1 Endurance test
The speaker shall withstand for 168hours continuous operation with
a variable frequency from 400Hz to 2800Hz,pink noise whose
RMS is equal to 8Vrms.
Verify SPL and THD before and after andurance test
4.2 Variable voltage operation
The speaker should be capable of operating for 1 hour continuous at
130% of 8Vrms(10.4Vrms) sine wave sweep from 800Hz to 2800Hz using
50Hz intervals for a time period of 10 seconds for each interval repeat
test at 80% of 8Vrms(6.4Vrms).
Verify SPL and THD before and after variable voltage operation.
4.3 Dielectric strength
1000Vrms 60Hz between voice coil terminal and speaker frame for 1
minute.
4.4 Sound Pressure Level
A. (speaker mounted in backbox with no grille) sound pressure at 1
meter in anechoic room with 2.83Vrms sine wave input.
B. Speaker to meet UL 1480 flatness within frequency range of
710Hz to 3550Hz.
C. UL 1480 flatness defined as:
Lower limit - (defined as referance) -10dB from peak SPL to
2250Hz ;
Allow additional -3.75dB from 710Hz to 890Hz.
Upper limit - +10dB from referance between 710Hz to 2250Hz
and +15dB from 2250Hz to 3350Hz.
D. Average sound pressure level:
Bands 26-36 (400Hz to 4000Hz =91
± 3dB).
Bands 26-32 (400Hz to 4000Hz =87
± 3dB).
