Motor Housing Cavity
With the pump in an upright position, remove the
pipe cap (27) on the top of the pump and the oil lev­
el plug (21) in the side of the pump. See Table E-2
and add the recommended grade of lubricant
(Table E-3) to the motor cavity until the oil begins
to drain from the oil level plug opening. Apply `Loc­
tite Pipe Sealant With Teflon No. 592' or equivalent
sealant to the threads of the oil level plug and pipe
cap and reinstall the plug and pipe cap. Maintain
the oil at this level.
Never attempt to fill the motor cavity
through the drain plug (16) opening or the
oil level plug (21). A volume of air must be
trapped above the motor to permit thermal
expansion of the motor oil.
