Introduction:

This guide specification is presented to assist the writer in specifying a bromine
feeder. This specification contains provisions for options. Bold face type
indicates areas where a selection or choice must be made.

• Bromine Feeders – The bromine feeder shall have a (15, 40, 42, 80, 160,

270 or 320) lb. capacity. The vessel shall be constructed of vinylester resin
and rated to 150 psi at 150

F. The top opening of the vessel shall have a

threaded, gasketed enclosure to insure proper sealing. An inlet strainer shall
be provided in the vessel base. One or more outlets shall be provided on the
side of the vessel to allow a wider feed rate/reserve capacity range. A
complete inlet piping assembly constructed of PVC shall be provided and
include a relief valve, drain valve, throttling valve and flow indicator. An
outlet distributor complete with PVC ball valve shall be provided and
mounted in the vessel outlet. The flow indicator shall have a range of
(1-10 gpm, 5-21 gpm, 20-120 gpm). The bromine feeder shall be supplied
with a funnel for the addition of bromine to the vessel.
