4 Mounting
4.1 General instructions
The pressure transmitters of series VEGABAR 80 are provided with a
double section electronics:
•
Measuring cell electronics
•
Processing electronics (electronics module)
The measuring cell electronics is located in the process fitting. It is not
accessible to the user.
The electronics module is located in the sensor housing and can be
exchanged by the user in case of a defect.
If no electronics module is available on site, it can be ordered from
the VEGA agency serving you. The order is possible without or with
sensor serial number. The serial number is stated on the type label of
the instrument or on the delivery note.
Without serial number
The electronics module without serial number contains no order-
specific data. However, operation of VEGABAR is also ensured
without these data. This allows the stocking of a "universal electronics
module" for multiple VEGABAR sensors of different types.
With serial number
The electronics module with sensor serial number contains order-
specific data such as housing material, process fitting, measuring cell
seal, etc.
Warning:
Switch off voltage supply before starting the mounting procedure. The
replacement electronics must only be mounted in idle condition.
Non-observance will damage the electronics!
The safety-relevant data for explosion protection of the electronics
module supplied later can deviate from the data of the previously
installed electronics module. If the electronics module supplied later
is installed in a certified, explosion-protected sensor, it is absolutely
necessary to observe the instrument "Safety instructions" attached to
the supplied electronics module! The attached label must be applied
on the sensor housing.
4.2 Mounting preparations
The electronics modules differ in their signal output, e.g. 4 … 20 mA/
HART.
There is another difference in the version "Standard" or "Climate com-
pensated". The version "Climate compensated" can be recognized by
the additional specification "climate compensated" on the type label
of the electronics module.

Make sure that you are using the correct version of the electronics
