Using Bluetooth ® wireless technology,
your c580 can connect to your mobile
phone and become a hands-free device.
To see if your phone with Bluetooth
technology is compatible with the c580,
visit www.garmin.com/bluetooth .
Understanding Bluetooth
Technology
Bluetooth ® wireless technology
establishes a wireless link between two
devices, such as your phone and the
c580. The first time you use two devices
together you must “pair” them by
establishing a relationship using a PIN/
passkey. After the initial pairing, the two
devices can connect automatically each
time you turn them on.
notE: You might have to set your
phone to connect automatically when
the c580 is turned on.
Pairing Your Phone
To pair and connect, your phone and the
c580 must be turned on and be within 10
meters of each other.
Initiate pairing from your c580 or from
your phone. Refer to your phone’s
documentation.
To pair using the phone settings:
1. Enable the phone’s Bluetooth
component. This might be in a
menu called Settings, Bluetooth,
Connections, or Hands-free.
2. Initiate a search for Bluetooth
devices. This might be located in a
menu called Bluetooth, Connections,
or Hands-free.
3. Select the StreetPilot c580 from the
list of devices.
4. Enter the c580’s Bluetooth PIN
( 1234 ) into your phone.
5. On the c580, touch and hold Back to
return to the Menu page.
