MAINTENANCE / SERVICE

• This tool is not intended for professional use

• Maintain the tool with care and keep it clean

- always ensure that the ventilation openings are kept

clear of debris

! disconnect the plug before cleaning

• Regularly check for defects such as loose, dislodged or

damaged blade, loose fixings, and worn or damaged

components

• Have worn or damaged parts replaced for safety reasons

• Avoid bending safety lock N ) which may cause

disfunctioning of the tool

• Always switch off the tool, allow the cutting blade to stop,

disconnect the plug and allow the tool to cool down before

inspecting, adjusting, servicing, and/or storing the tool

• Store the tool indoors in a dry place

• When servicing the shredding unit be aware that, even

though the motor will not start due to the safety-lock

feature of the guard, the shredding unit can still be moved

by hand

• If the tool should fail despite the care taken in

manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be

carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL

power tools

- send the tool undismantled together with proof of

purchase to your dealer or the nearest SKIL service

station (addresses as well as the service diagram of

the tool are listed on www.skil.com)

ENVIRONMENT
