The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has introduced a voluntary programme, the

NERGY

S

TAR programme, to encourage the widespread and voluntary use of energy-efficient technologies that enhance

the workplace, improve product performance and prevent pollution. As an

E

NERGY

S

TAR Partner, the TOSHIBA

TEC CORPORATION has determined that this copier model meets the

E

NERGY

S

TAR guidelines for energy

efficiency.

E

NERGY

S

TAR guidelines for this class of copier require

E

NERGY

S

TAR copiers to have a ‘Sleep mode’

feature that automatically makes the copier enter the sleep mode after a period of inactivity. The copier must also
automatically change to a ‘Low power mode’ after a certain period of time since the last usage.
Specifically, this copier complies with the following requirements.

Low power mode:

The equipment automatically enters this mode when a specified period of time (the default setting at the time

of shipment: 15 minutes) has passed since its last use. “ALP” appears on the LED display in this mode.

Sleep mode:

The equipment automatically enters this mode when a specified period of time (the default setting at the time

of shipment: 30 minutes) has passed since its last use. “SLP” appears on the LED display in this mode.

A maximum of 70 W (in the sleep mode) is provided as standard power consumption in the

TAR.

The power consumption of this equipment is within the provided one both in the lower power mode and sleep

mode.

Note 1: The period from the last use to the time the equipment enters into the sleep mode or the low power mode

can be changed. For details, consult your service representative.

Note 2: In the sleep mode, the equipment starts warming itself up when print data are received, or when any

button on the control panel is pressed. When the warm-up has completed, the equipment enters into the
ready status and starts printing out the data.
