Using The On-Screen Display Functions
Information about a disc and its operational status can be monitored on
your TV screen. If you want to take advantage of this feature for audio
CDs, please remember to connect the DV-C501 to your TV set (see
pages 10 and 11) and to switch it on.
Please note that the information provided on screen is only for refer-
ence purposes and cannot be changed.
More Specific Information: Remaining Time and Setting Status
You can also view the elapsed time, remaining time, and
setting status of the disc on the TV screen. Though the
operation is almost exactly the same as for requesting general
information, please note that you need to start playback
before being able to access this information.
Press the DISPLAY button during
playback.
Each time you press the DISPLAY button,
the on-screen display changes as follows.

Bit Rate (Mbit/sec): Amount of picture, sound and
subtitle data on the DVD video disc transferred per
second. The larger the value, the more data need to
be processed. Please note that the amount of data
provides no information about the picture quality.

Requesting Basic Information

track number, and total playing time of the disc on the TV
screen.
Stop playback and press the DISPLAY
button.

Tip:
When you play a disc that contains text data, the unit displays text
information, such as the disc title and song titles. If the disc does not
contain any text, the unit displays “No Text”.
