Using an Optional Handset

dialing mode and Caller ID settings are set by the
base handset, except for the auto talk, area code,
and Call Waiting Deluxe settings. All other menu
settings (ringer volume and tone, distinctive ring,
and display language) and memories (phonebook
and one-touch speed dial) are independent and can
be set as you like.
To turn Call Waiting Deluxe for the optional handset

Only one handset at a time can make or receive
calls. If you press
TALK/FLASH
on one handset
while the other is in use, you hear a beep and
cannot access the line.Ô

When you press a key on one handset to stop
paging, the sound from the other handset also
stops.

When you receive a Caller ID/Call Waiting
notification during a call, the information appears
and is stored only in the in-use handset. Any Caller
ID information that arrives while the phone is on-
hook is stored in all handsets.

• Pressing TALK on more
than one handset at the
same time causes
interference between the
handsets.
• Pressing END on one
handset terminates the
call on all handsets.
• Moving outside the
handset-to-base
communication range
may terminate the call.
