Packaging and Shipping Instruction
When you send the product to the AVC service facility you must
use the original carton box and packing material or an equivalent
as designated by
AVC.
Your Responsibility
(1) You must retain your bill of sale to provide proof of purchase.
(2) These warranties are effective only if the product is
purchased and operated in the U.S.A. or Canada.
(3) W a r r a n t i e s e x t e n d o n l y t o d e f e c t s i n m a t e r i a l o r
workmanship, and do not extend to any product or parts
which have been lost or discarded, or damage to product
or parts caused by misuse, accident, improper operation or
maintenance, or use in violation of instructions provided with
the product, or to product which has been altered or modified
without authorization of
AVC, or to products or parts thereof
which have had the serial number removed or changed.

You are responsible for any transportation, shipping or
insurance relative to the return of the product to our Product
Returns Center.
All warranties implied by state law, including the implied
warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose,
are expressly limited to the duration of the limited warranties set
forth above. With the exception of any warranties implied by state
law as hereby limited, the foregoing warranty is exclusive and in
lieu of all other warranties, guarantees, agreements and similar
obligations of manufacturer or seller with respect to the repair
or replacement of any parts. In no event shall
AVC be liable for
consequential or incidental damages.
No person, agent, distributor, dealer or company is authorized
to change, modify or extend the terms of these warranties in any
manner whatsoever. The time within action must be commenced
to enforce any obligation of
AVC arising under the warranty or
under any statute, or law of the United States or any state thereof,
is hereby limited to one year from the date of purchase. This
limitation does not apply to implied warranties arising under state
law.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also
have other rights, which may vary from state to state. Some states
do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts,
when an action may be brought, or the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above provisions
may not apply to you.

AVC MULTIMEDIA ("AVC") makes the following limited
warranties. These limited warranties extend to the original
consumer purchaser and is limited to non-commercial user of the
product.
One Year Parts & Labor Warranty
AVC products purchased in the United States are warranted to be
free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one
year from the date of their original retail purchase. If the unit fails
to conform to this warranty, we will service the product using new
or refurbished parts and products, at
AVC's sole discretion.
During a period of one year from the effective warranty date,
AVC
will provide, when needed, service labor to repair a manufacturing
defect at its designated Service Center. To obtain warranty service
in the United States, you must first call our
Customer Support
Center at 1- 877- 252 - 6873, during the hours listed in the
box below. The deternination of service will be made by AVC
customer support.
PLEASE DO NOT RETURN YOUR UNIT TO AVC WITHOUT
PRIOR AUTHORIZATION. New or remanufactured replacements
for defective parts or products will be used for repairs by
AVC
at its designated Service Center for one year from the defective
warranty date. Such replacement parts or products are warranted
for an additional one year from the date of repair or replacement.
The Customer will be required to ship the unit to the Service
Center indicated at the time Customer Support is contacted to
make the necessary repairs. The customer is responsible for all
transportation charges to the service facility.

LINE IN Connection
CD Playback
Repeat Playback
You can power your portable stereo system by plugging the
detachable AC power cord into the AC inlet on the back of
the unit and into a wall AC power outlet. Check that the rated
voltage of your unit matches your local voltage. Make sure
that the AC power cord is fully inserted into the unit.
CAUTIONS: (for North America) To prevent electrical shock,
match wide blade of plug to wide slot, fully insert.
USING THE BATTERIES
Insert 6 “C-Size” batteries in the battery compartment. Be
sure that the batteries are inserted correctly to avoid damage
to the unit.
• Always remove the batteries when
unit will not be used for a long
period of time, as this will cause
leakage of the batteries and
subsequently damage to your unit.
• Playback would automatically
come to a stop when the batteries
have no more power. Replace all
the batteries with new ones.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not mix ALKALINE, standard (CARBONZINC) or
rechargeable (NICKELCADMIUM) batteries.
Warning: Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. Batteries may
explode or leak.
Caution: Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly
replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
TO ADJUST THE VOLUME
Adjust the VOLUME control to obtain the
desired volume.
1. Slide the MODE switch to AM or FM.
2. Use the TUNING Knob to tune to the desired station.
3. Adjust the volume level.
AM(MW)/FM
• Reposition the unit to get better AM(MW)/FM reception.

TO USE THE AC ADAPTOR
ATTENTION: You must disconnect any device from the LINE-
IN jack. This product has a “smart-sense” feature, where it
picks LINE-IN as the audio source if a device is connected to
the LINE-IN jack.
1. Slide the MODE switch to CD. After a short time, the “
- -”
icon will blink on the display.
2. Open the CD door. Place a disc in the center with the label
side facing up and then close the CD door gently.
3. Then the total track no. is shown on the display.
4. Press the
PLAY/PAUSE button to start
playback. The PLAY “ • ” indicator will light
up and remain on.
• Adjust the VOLUME.
TO PAUSE PLAYBACK
• Press the
PLAY/PAUSE button while a
CD is playing to pause play. The PAUSE “ • ”
indicator will blink.
• To resume playback, press the
PLAY/PAUSE button
again.
TO STOP PLAYBACK
• Press the STOP button.
TO SKIP TO A DIFFERENT TRACK
• Press the
button to skip to the start of the current track or
previous tracks. Press the
button to skip to the next track.
TO LOCATE A PARTICULAR POINT ON A TRACK
• Press and hold the

button during playback,
according to the desired direction, and release at the
desired point.
TO CLEAN THE UNIT
Do not use volatile chemicals on this unit. Clean by lightly
wiping with a soft cloth.
TO CLEAN THE CD
If the CD skips or will not play, the disc may
need to be cleaned. Before playing, wipe
the disc from the center outwards with a
cleaning cloth. After playing, store the disc
in its case.
TO HANDLE THE DISC
Only touch the CD on the edge to avoid
finger prints on its surface. Do not stick paper
or tape nor write anything on the surface.

CD
System does
not turn on
• Make sure AC power plug is secure in the
outlet and inlet has power.
• Batteries may be dead. Install new batteries.
Disc in place
but unit won’t
play
• Make sure the MODE switch is set to CD
position.
• Make sure LINE IN jack is disconnected.
• Make sure disc is clean and undamaged.
• Make sure printed side of disc is facing up.
• Make sure PAUSE mode is not activated.
• Make sure the unit is on a secure spot.
Vibration or jarring can cause the disc to
skip.
RADIO
Poor FM recep-
tion
• Electrical interference in your home can
cause poor reception. Move the unit away
from them (especially those with motors and
transformers).
Poor AM(MW)
reception
• Reposition or turn the unit for better
reception.
TO CONNECT TO LINE IN FOR OTHER SOUND
SOURCES
You can connect audio devices such as your iPod, CD players
or MP3 players to the unit through the LINE IN jack. Use a
Line-in cable (not supplied), connect the LINE IN jack on the
side panel to the Line Out or Earphone jack of the other audio
devices.
TO LISTEN TO THE CONNECTED DEVICE
1. Slide the MODE switch to Radio (AM/FM) or CD mode. This
product has a “smart-sense” feature, where, if the LINE-
IN jack has a connection, it will select LINE-IN instead of
Radio or CD.
2. Turn on the audio device you have attached to the LINE IN
jack.
ATTENTION: You must disconnect any device from the LINE-
IN jack. This product has a “smart-sense” feature, where it
picks LINE-IN as the audio source if a device is connected to
the LINE-IN jack.
Note: After listening to the radio, slide the MODE switch to
STANDBY.
TO REPEAT CURRENT TRACK
• Press the
REPEAT button once during
playback, the REPEAT ONE “ • ” indicator
will blink.
TO REPEAT THE ENTIRE CD
• Press the
REPEAT button a second time
to repeat all tracks, the REPEAT ALL “ • ”
indicator will light up and remain on.
TO CANCEL PLAYBACK MODE
• Press the
REPEAT button until the REPEAT indicator is
turned off.
Note: Repeat play can only be done when the unit is in the
play mode.
