VEHICLE BREAK-IN PERIOD
2-Cycle Engines
The break in period for your new Polaris ATV is defined as the time it takes to use the
first tank of gasoline. No single action on your part is as important as a proper break
in period. Careful treatment of a new engine will result in more efficient performance
and longer life for the engine. Perform the following procedures carefully.
1. Mix 6.4 ounces of injection oil to two gallons of gasoline in a suitable gas can. Fill
the fuel tank as outlined on page 65.
2. Fill the oil tank with Polaris injection oil.
Use only Polaris injection oil. Never substitute or mix oil brands. Serious engine
damage and voiding of warranty can result.
