PROBLEMS YOU MAY ENCOUNTER WITH YOUR TELEPHONE

The table below lists the problems you may encounter when using your Philips
telephone.

CAUSE

SOLUTION

The LED on the base station is

not lit.

The base station has not been

plugged in correctly or there is a

power cut.

Check the connections.

No audible signal is transmitted

when you place the handset on

the base station.

The recharging contacts are not

making contact.

The recharging contacts are

dirty.

u

Pick up the handset and replace

it.

u

Clean them with a clean dry

cloth.

There is no dialling tone.

u

The base station has not been

connected to the telephone line

correctly.

Check the connections (see

page 3).

The handset battery is flat.

u

Place the handset on the base

station and wait for at least

12 hours.

u

You are too far from the base

station.

u

Go nearer to the base station.

There is no dialling tone even

though you have left the

handset on the base station for

at least 12 hours.

The batteries are worn out.

Contact your local Philips dealer

for new batteries.

All these solutions have failed.

Unplug your base station then

plug it in again.

The answering machine has not

recorded your outgoing

message.

The memory is full.

Delete messages to free sufficient

memory.

The answering machine has

stopped automatically.

The memory is full.

Delete messages to free sufficient

memory.

The LED on the base station is

blinking rapidly.

Your answering machine cannot

record any more messages.

Delete messages to free sufficient

memory.

You have not entered the correct

code.

u

Record a new code (see page 11).

You have not defined a remote

access code.

Enter your code (see page 11).

You cannot access the

answering machine by remote

control.
