of the arrow to open the top cover.

When transporting the unit, it is rec-
ommended to set the HOLD switch
in advance. In this way you can pre-
vent unintended operation even when
a key is pressed accidentally.
÷ For the Hold function, read "Hold function".
÷ Before any operation, be sure to set the
HOLD switch to off (HOLD Off).

in stop mode, playback starts automatically.
To turn power off
÷ After stopping playback, press the STOP 7 key
again.
Auto power-off function
If no operation key has been pressed for 30 sec-
onds while the unit is in the stop mode, the
power is turned off automatically to prevent bat-
tery power consumption.

Press the SKIP/SEARCH 4 key or ¢ key.

Programming tracks in desired order
Favorite tracks (max. 20 tracks) can be
programmed in the desired order during
stop mode for later playback.
1 Select a track...

÷ Repeat steps 1 and 2 and enter the Track
Nos. into the program in order.
÷ Up to 20 tracks can be programmed in this
unit, but not more than 20 tracks.

Changing the tone
B.BOOST (Bass Boost)
The low frequencies sound, which is felt in
headphone, can be boosted.
"B.BOOST On" position:
Low frequencies are boosted.
"B.BOOST Off" position:
Normal tone reproduction.
÷ As a result, the audio may be distorted if the vol-
ume level is too high in a section dominated by
bass sound. In this case, set Bass Boost to off
(B.BOOST Off) or decrease the volume.
Slide the B.BOOST switch to select the desired
setting :
Selecting Play Mode
Press during playback or stop status.
The mode changes each time the P.MODE key
is pressed.

1 One-track repeat

Hold function
The operation keys of the main unit are deac-
tivated. This position prevents undesired op-
eration when the unit is put in a bag, etc.
÷ When the HOLD switch on the unit is switched on
(HOLD On), the unit's keys cannot be operated.

and close the cover.
÷ Make sure the positive (+) and negative (-) poles are properly aligned.
÷ Use commercially available LR03 batteries. The unit may not operate normally
if manganese batteries are used.
÷ Replace both batteries at the same time.

Open the battery cover.

÷ Make sure the positive (+) and negative (-) poles are properly aligned.
÷ When using a rechargeable battery which is new or which has not
been used for more than 2 months, the operating period may be shorter
than nomal. This is due to the properties of the battery and not a mal-
function. After recharging, use the battery on the unit until it is ex-
hausted. The original performance of the battery performance can be
recovered by repeating this cycle a few times.
÷ Be sure to close the top cover of the unit before proceeding to re-
charging.
÷ Recharging completes in about 12 hours. Do not attempt to recharge
the batteries after this period.
÷ Rechargeable batteries can be recharged. When the playable time
per recharge reduces, please newly purchase the optional (NB-3A70)
rechargeable batteries.

÷ Make sure to switch BASS BOOST off. (The tone
should be adjusted only on the connected audio

cleared.
