Figure 29. Lubricating the Tractor
LUBRICATION
Lubricate the unit at the locations shown in Figures 28
through 33 as well as the following lubrication points.
Grease:
• front axle grease fittings
• steering linkage
• foot pedal
• mower pivots
• mower arbors
Use grease fittings when present. Disassemble parts
to apply grease to moving parts when grease fittings
are not installed.
Not all greases are compatible. Simplicity “Jiffy Lube”
Lithium Grease is recommended, automotive-type lithi-
um grease may be used when this is not available.
Oil:
• rear frame assembly pivot
• hydro linkage
• seat adjustment assembly
• brake linkage
• frame pivot points
• mower deck height adjustment linkage
Generally, all moving metal parts should be oiled
where contact is made with other parts. Keep oil and
grease off belts and pulleys. Remember to wipe fit-
tings and surfaces clean both before and after lubri-
cation.
