Operator is overworking
the machine.

Improper fuel/oil ratio.

Fallen leaves or dust on

the intake cover.

Fan, fan cover, or cylinder

fins are dirty or damaged.

Carbon deposits in the

muffler.

Carbon deposits in the

combustion chamber

and/or exhaust port.

Missing or damaged

blower tubes.

Use lower throttle setting.

Clean the intake cover.

Clean, repair or replace as
necessary.

Decarbonize muffler.(See 135
hr. maint. page 15).

Consult with an authorized
servicing dealer.

Replace missing or damaged
blower tubes.

Engine is rough
at all speeds. May
also have black
smoke and/or
unburned fuel at
the exhaust.

Clogged air cleaner
element.

Loose or damaged

spark plug.

Air leakage or

clogged fuel line.

Water in the fuel.

Piston seizure.

Faulty carburetor

and/or diaphragm.

Clean or replace air cleaner
element.

Tighten or replace.

Repair or replace filter and/
or fuel line.

Drain the fuel system, replace
the fuel.

Consult with an authorized
servicing dealer.

Is the engine over-
heating?

Refill with fresh fuel of the cor-

rect mixture (gasoline and ISO

EGD or JASO FC class 2-cycle

Engine Oil, 50:1 ratio.
