Access Local
Management
• Connect your PC directly to the Console
port using the included null modem cable.
• Set a VT100-compatible terminal emulation
program (such as HyperTerminal*) to these
parameters:
- 9600 baud
- 8 data bits
- No parity
- 1 stop bit
- No flow control
Press
E to display Local Management.
• From the menu, select Administrator. Press
E once to enter the configuration
options and again when prompted for a
password.
• From the Administrator menu, select
Configuration and press
E. From the
Configuration menu select Quick Setup and
press
E.
• From the menu, select Basic Setup. Type the
IP address and press
E. Type the
subnet mask and press
E.
• Follow the rest of the instructions on the
screen, pressing
E to move to the next
field. Note: When configuringt the 520T
switch you also need to specify the gateway
address.
• From the Configuration menu, select Save
to flash memory to save the new settings to
flash.

Local Management
(optional)
Local Management Screen: By default, no password
or user name is assigned. Press
E
to access the
Administrator functions.
Quick Setup Screen: Use the
W Z
keys to select an
item, then press
E
to display the menu. Or, type
the underlined letter. Press
q
to go back a level.
Basic Setup Screen: By default, the IP address of the
switch is 192.0.2.1. Follow the on-screen instructions
to change the IP address and update the switch’s
information.
