Assembly

It is necessary to fit the guard (7) to the lower shaft (5) and

the secondary handle (4) to the upper shaft (23).
1. Ensure the switch is in the

off position and disconnect

the cable plug from the

mains supply.

2. Position the safety guard

mount (10) at the bottom of

the lower shaft. Ensure the

middle hole of the mount

lines up with the guard fixing

point (22).

3. Place the guard split washer

(19), followed by the guard

washer (20) onto the guard

locking screw (19), insert into

the centre hole of the safety

guard mount and tighten into

the guard fixing point.

4. Fix the guard in place with the

four fixing screws (21).

5. Fit the secondary handle (4) to the upper shaft (23) by

fitting the handle over the shaft and placing the locking

clamp nut (included) through the holes in the guard

and tightening in the most comfortable position to the

secondary handle locking knob (16).

To attach the two sections of the shaft

1. Align the two sections of the shaft and, keeping the

head straight, fully insert the lower section until the shaft

locking button (12) engages in the locating hole in the

upper shaft. The head will be in the normal operating

position.

Note.

If the two shafts do not fully fit together, rotate the

head of the line trimmer to assist in aligning the drive shafts.
2. Tighten the upper shaft section to the lower shaft by

turning the shaft locking knob (11) clockwise and firmly

gripping the shaft locking nut (17).

Fitting the carry strap

1. Hook the strap (15) to the carry strap hook (14) on the

front of the handle.

2. Adjust the length of the strap as required.

Before starting

Before use, check that the tool is in good working order and

that the length of the trimmer line is correct, as follows:
1. Ensure the switch is in the off position and disconnect the

cable plug from the mains supply.

2. Examine the general condition of the tool. Inspect the

guard, switch, cordset and extension cord. Check for

loose screws, misalignment, binding of moving parts,

improper mounting, broken parts and any other condition

that may affect its safe operation.

If abnormal noise or vibration occurs during operation,

turn the line trimmer off immediately and have the

problem corrected.
