Using the Menus: Shooting Mode
F F MOVIE AF MODE MOVIE AF MODE ((defaults to defaults to r r))
This option controls how the camera selects the focus area for movies.
Option Option Description Description
r CENTER The camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame.
u CONTINUOUS
The camera continuously adjusts focus to refl ect changes in the distance to
subjects near the center of the frame.
R Note that in u mode, the camera focuses continuously, increasing the drain on the battery,
and that the sound of the camera focusing may be audible.
W W MOVIE MODE MOVIE MODE ((defaults to defaults to i i))
Choose a frame size for movies ( P 73).
a a STILL SHOOTING IN MOVIE STILL SHOOTING IN MOVIE ((defaults to defaults to MOVIE PRIORITY) MOVIE PRIORITY)
Choose how the camera records photographs taken during movie recording( P 74).

MOVIE PRIORITY
The camera takes a photograph without interrupting movie recording.
Image size is determined by the option selected for
W MOVIE MODE.
STILL IMAGE PRIORITY
The camera interrupts fi lming to take the photograph and resumes fi lm-
ing automatically when recording is complete. Image size is determined
by the option selected for
O IMAGE SIZE, but note that the photograph
will be recorded at size P if O is selected.
J J AE BKT EV STEPS AE BKT EV STEPS ((defaults to defaults to ± ±11//33))
Choose the size of the exposure bracketing increment used when O AE BKT is selected for
R CONTINUOUS. Select from increments of +1 / 3 EV, +2 / 3 EV, and +1 EV (note that the camera
may not be able to use the selected bracketing increment if the amount of over- or under- expo-
sure exceeds the limits of the exposure metering system).
