Warning:
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near ch i l d r e n .
Do not allow vacuum cleaner to be used as a toy or to run unattended at any
t i m e.
• Keep hair, loose cl o t h i n g , f i n ge rs , feet and all parts of body aw ay from openings,
rotating agitator and other moving part s . Do not operate cleaner in bare feet or
when wearing open toe shoes or sandals.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, s u ch as cigarettes,m a t ch e s ,
or hot ashes.
• Do not use to pick up flammable or combu s t i ble materials such as gasoline or fine
wood sandings or use in areas where they may be present.
• Avoid picking up hard ,sharp objects with the cl e a n e r.T h ey may damage the
cleaner and the bag .
• A lw ays turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting hose.
• Do not use without dust bag or filters in place. C h a n ge bag frequently when
p i cking up very fine materials such as pow d e r.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs .
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening bl o ck e d ;keep
free of dust, l i n t ,h a i r,or anything that may reduce air flow.
• Do not pull or carry by cord , use cord as a handle,close door on cord or pull
c o rd around sharp edges or corners .Do not run appliance over cord . Keep cord
aw ay from heated surfaces.
• A lw ays disconnect cord from electrical outlet before servicing the cl e a n e r.
• Unplug cleaner when not in use.Turn off all controls before unplugg i n g .
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord . To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord . N ever
handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• The use of an extension cord is not recommended.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug.If appliance is not working as it should,
has been dro p p e d ,d a m age d , left outdoors ,or dropped into water, take it to a
H o over Fa c t o ry Service Center or Au t h o r i zed Hoover Warranty Service Dealer
( D e p o t ) .
