Quick Start Guide
Introduction
This document describes how to start reading UHF RFID tags with the Indy®
RS500 Development Kit.

Getting Started with the RS500 Development Kit
1. Install the RS500 Development Tool software on your PC.
a. Copy the
RS500 Development Tool.exe
file from the USB drive
2. Configure the RS500 development kit hardware as shown in Figure 1.
a. If you have reconfigured the jumpers since opening the kit, restore the default configuration as described in
the “Kit Default Configuration” section of th
b. Connect the kit PCB to your PC using the Mini-USB cable.

At this point, t
he “Health” LED, D1 at the top of the PCB, should start blinking.
c. Connect the kit PCB to the Mini-Guardrail antenna using the SMA RF Cable.
d. Place one of the UHF RFID tags on top of the antenna.
