Excessive shaft end play.
Bearing internal clearance too great.
Replace bearings with correct type.
Excessive thrust bearing end cover shim pack
thickness.
Remove individual shims to obtain proper
thickness.
Thrust bearing end cover loose.
Tighten screws.
Excessive shaft runout.
Shaft bent.
Replace.
Excessive bearing frame flange
runout.
Shaft bent.
Replace.
Bearing frame flange distorted.
Replace.
Excessive seal chamber cover
runout.
Seal chamber cover not properly seated on frame.
Replace or remachine.
Corrosion or wear.
Replace or remachine.
Excessive impeller wear ring
runout.
Bent shaft.
Replace.
Improper machining of wear ring.
