Firmware refers to the operating software designed for your CD-R/RW drive.
It is stored in the drive’s flash memory, so that it can be erased and rewritten.
To enhance operation reliability, YAMAHA will continue improving the
firmware and make updates available. You can find information about the

Checking the firmware version of the CRW-70 drive
For Windows 98 Second Edition/Me
Click Start on the taskbar, select Setting, Control Panel, System, the
Device Manager tab, and YAMAHA CRW-70 Properties, and click the
Settings tab.
For Windows 2000 Professional/XP
The firmware version cannot be displayed using Device Manager.
Use your CD writing software to check the firmware version.
